Steve,
I made good progress in Tosca calculation. For HMS Dipole, I am able to create a 1.37 T field with 190 ppm/cm at 3000 A. I am calculating what is the generated field if the current is 200 A.
As for SHMS Dipole, if I am thinking to put in the bore. The field uniformity is great. But the probe will see a lot of radiation. Can it tolerate the radiation?
We should discuss them next Monday.
Cheers
Eric

Subject: New NMR unit
Hello all,
What is the latest updates on the new NMR units?
1. Do is it now work with the PLC reliable?
2. How soon can it be tested within the SHMS Dipole magnet? (includes PLC programming and installation)
3. Is there a need to buy a unit for the HMS or will the older, existing NMR units work for the HMS Dipole?
I need to write and submit a req fairly soon for another unit, multipexer and probes if the newer model NMR is needed fpr the HMS Dipole.
Thanks
Steven
