Hi Mike,

There are several advantages to having the PLC licenses on the Jlab 
license server infrastructure.

For the licenses  located on the Jlab license server infrastructure, the 
computer center is responsible for support and maintenance therefore, I 
think we should use the existing Jlab license server infrastructure.

Halls B and D use the Jlab license server infrastructure for their PLC 
licenses. By locating the Hall C licenses on the Jlab license server 
infrastructure, we will move towards a unified system for the physics 
division.  And by having a unified system it will facilitate DSG support 
for Halls B, C, and D.

With regards to the Hall C PLC licenses, we will  limit access on the 
Jlab license server infrastructure to /*only /*approved*/ by Hall C 
*/**users (as mentioned by Pablo), so there should be no issue regarding 
unauthorized users.

Finally, placing the licenses on the Jlab license server infrastructure  
will enable other DSG members,  Amrit and Mary Ann, who do not have a 
computer with access to the Hall C subnet, to participate in the project.

Unless there are compelling reasons to locate the licenses on Skylla7, 
my recommendation is that we locate the licenses on Jlab license server 
infrastructure.
