Simona,

I just happened to see divider cables in my mailbox, with a note that says "Hall C, NPS replaced cables (19)". Do you want the SMA connectors replaced?

The timeframe for the remaining ones is as soon as possible. We cannot run physics without replacing these cables

Hi Mark,

This morning I gave Simona 20 cables that were modified using the the previously terminated SMA connectors. I just finished the 19 cables that were brought from the hall. These cables were terminated with the new connectors Mark Taylor bought. These are solder vs crimp, so they took a little bit longer than expected.

Including the 19 cables I did yesterday, the new total is 58 of 80 complete. What is the time frame for the remaining 22 cables?

Thanks for providing us with a charge code.

It looks like Mindy has received the new SMA connectors that Mark Taylor ordered.
She has also received about 20 cables from Simona this morning.
So, she can get started making these new cables right away.

This work  can be charge to COPS PHALLC.

For the short term, 20 that just need to have the SMA replaced , can Armen help with this work?
I found that the target work will be done sooner, so if we  could get this done some  time on

Mindy is working on two urgent projects at the moment.
However, she has indicated that she is willing to work overtime to complete the remaining 44 cables as quickly as possible.

         As you say we need about 80 replaced. Mindy has made 16 that Simona will install
and Simona will leave 20 cables tonight for Mindy which can have the SMA swapped.
The hall will open on Thurs and Friday so we can install those cables. This leave 44 cables.
These would have to be new cable assemblies, since we do not have more old cable assemblies to
just  cut the SMA connector.
       So your summary is correct. Hopefully we won't have to replace all 1080, but we should look into
have the parts on hand.

Hi,

Just to summarize and make sure I have a clear understanding of the situation:
Mark Taylor has purchased a sample of SMA connectors to test to find a new connector.
Once the new connector is selected a larger order will be placed (we know we need to replace 60-70 cables).
For the time being, replacement cables were made using known-good SMA connectors.

I suggest that, budget allowing, we should replace all of the connectors for the 1080 cables plus spares.
Mindy can work this in to her other work as time allows.
