[dsg-hdice] Zurich Lock-In Amplifier

Hi Tom,

Thanks for the update.

To start, I'd just need remote access and admin privileges on the PC HDICENMR4 to start by looking at it remotely and at least seeing if I could get communication going between the PC and lock-in amplifier.

Best regards,
Tyler

Hi Tyler,

I wanted to give you an update on the Lock-In Amplifier. I haven't had
much luck or made any progress with the computer center this week. Wei
recently switched the racks around and changed the connections around in
order to run NMR scans with HDICENMR2 and the old NMR system.

HDICENMR1 and HDICENMR2 are both plugged into a switch, which is then
connected to the ethernet port in the lab.

HDICENMR4 use to be connected to the switch and connected to the lock-in
amplifier with a USB cable. Now it is connected to it's own network port
and the USB cable has been removed.

The Zurich Lock-In Amplifier is no longer connected to any PC via USB
cable. The lock-in is now just connected to the network via an ethernet
cable going to it's own wall port.

HDICENMR2 will be in almost constant use, so Wei suggested we now try a
simpler setup with just one PC and the lock-in. We'd like to see if we
can get just HDICENMR4 to control the Lock-In amplifier over the network.

Would you be able to give us a hand with this new plan? If you have any
thoughts of suggestions, let us know.

Thanks,
Tom
