[dsg-hdice] Boxcar Averager Trial Dates

Hi Tom,

It seems like the best option would be to see if the trial period could start on Monday. That way there'd be enough time for you all in HDice to look into it, too.

I do not think it would be possible to write a program for the boxcar averager during the one week trial period. Using the boxcar averager during the trial period would have to be done through "manual" set up like what was shown in the demo.

To not waste any part of the trial period, it might be a good idea to also talk to Ed and verify the best way to set up the signals for the boxcar averager. If I remember correctly from the demo, the signal detected from the lock-in amplifier would need to be output through one of the Zurich lock-in amplifier's auxiliary outputs and then into the boxcar averager input.

Hi Tyler,

I was speaking to Xiangdong today about our schedules.  We will be
starting Run 2 of the experiment by the 26th.  He believes him and I will
be too busy with running the experiment at UITF to be able to work on the
Boxcar Averager at this point.

He came up with two suggestions.  First would be to activate the trial
possibly today (or more realistically Monday) if you have time to start
checking out the Boxcar features before your vacation.

The second option would be to start the trial on 10/26 when you are back.
Xiangdong pointed out that if we wait until then, it wouldn't give us much
time before we'd need the device for taking actual measurements. Also,
Xiangdong said we would have to let the DSG take over working with the
Boxcar Averager since all our time will be devoted to Run 2 of the
experiment. He wasn't sure how long you would need to investigate the
device/LabOne, write a program, and test before needing to take actual
measurements.
