[Dsg-rnd_ansys] 2023-11-16 DSG-Ansys R&D meeting minutes

​Hello,

DSG has internal weekly meetings to discuss the progress of the Ansys projects.

Below are some highlights for our last meeting:

  *   Ran thermal simulation using Ansys Mechanical Transient. Thermal simulation took ~66 hours to complete; results are illogical—the maximum temperature is below the ambient temperature (25°C).
  *   Discussed common model geometry (crystal array, cooling plates, and dividers), thermal boundary conditions, and meshing operations to be used for the Ansys Mechanical and Ansys Mechanical in transient mode.
  *   For the EIC Beampipe simplified model, mesh improvements are in progress.
