[Eg1_run] Comments on proton paper

Hello EG1b run group:

     I've taken first crack at scrutinizing the latest draft of the EG1 
long proton paper.  My comments, questions, and concerns are listed at the 
link below. The dozen comments I marked with an asterisk * are the 
"non-trivial" comments/concerns I have; I hope that these are 
well-reviewed by those most relevant to resolving these issues. All other 
comments are pretty minor (minor technical errors, typos, etc.).
