[EIC-eRD110] [EXTERNAL] eRD110-related beam tests in 2024

  Dear All,

  As suggested, after a substantial discussion, in the today's meeting, the eRD110 community is not necessarily interested in either setting up or participating in any HRPPD-specific or MCP-PMT-specific beam tests in 2024, and believes that all such measurements except for very few can and should be done on a test bench.

  In practical terms this means:

  (1) we are not going to pursue either DESY or CERN beam test options in May-June 2024, even in case the pfRICH beam test at Fermilab in May 2024 is cancelled

  (2) the above mentioned pfRICH beam test should better focus on the pfRICH detector performance per se, in a configuration with a new ASIC backplane rather than on a separate evaluation of HRPPD sensor(s) individually using exiting DRS4 electronics

  In case people who could not joint the meeting today, have different opinions, please raise your voice. Otherwise I'm going to contact Zhenyu and Marco and tell them we are not interested to run parasitically with them in 2024.
