Dear EIC team members,



At this stage, the Conceptual Design Report (CDR) should be used as the baseline for the EIC technical design in all aspects. As the project evolves, major technical improvements/changes, after a designated procedure, shall re-establish the baseline locally or affecting a broad range.



After formal reviews and collection of comments from the Technical Change Control Board, I have approved the following changes to be implemented into the EIC technical design baseline:



  1.  Change the RCS quadrupole, dipole, and sextupole magnets from water cooled to air cooled.
  2.  Change the coil parameters on the ESR “super bend” dipoles from a single turn coil to a multiturn coil.



One requested change has deferred until further work is done:

  1.  Change the clear vertical aperture of the ESR “super bend” dipoles from 52mm to 47mm.
