Subject: [All_ jlab _accounts] JLab Publications Update: New Language for Authors: Acknowledgment and Notice
Sent on behalf of Jefferson Lab's Publications Manager
In June 2014 , the Department of Energy's Office of Science issued new guidance for manuscripts produced by laboratories funded by DOE. Each submitted manuscript must now contain both a Notice to the Publisher and specific language in the acknowledgments section of the manuscript.
Here is the new language for authors to use in the acknowledgment section of published manuscripts for most of the research that is conducted at Jefferson Lab and all research that is supported by DOE's Office of Science, Office of Nuclear Physics: "This material is based upon work supported by the U.S. Department of Energy, Office of Science, Office of Nuclear Physics under contract DE-AC05-06OR23177."
This language is in addition to the Notice to the Publisher, which must appear on the front of submitted manuscripts. To see the full instructions for the Notice to the Publisher and the acknowledgment language, please visit: http :// www . jlab .org/ ir /pubs/notice. html
If you have any questions about publications, be sure to attend the next Publications Training and Refresher course, which will be held on Oct. 1 at 9 a.m. in CEBAF Center room F226. In this session, authors will learn how to submit their manuscripts into the Publications Review and Approval System, how to make recommended revisions to their papers during the signature process, and how to add the relevant information once the paper is published. Coffee and refreshments will be available. If you would like attend, R.S.V.P. to Kim Edwards at kindrew @ jlab .org by Friday , Sept. 26. If you have additional questions in the meantime, contact Kim at x7805 or kindrew @ jlab .org .
