Subject: [EXTERNAL] Next R&D DAC Meeting

Dear Project R&D Contacts and PIs,

we are writing you to announce the next Detector Advisory Meeting (DAC) to be held on August 28 and August 31, 2023. Please note the unusual gap between the two days. In between is the DAC CD-3a design review. What matters for you are only Monday August 28 and Thursday August 31.

As you see we expect each project to make a presentation. This includes also the ones that do not continue in FY24, i.e., eRD101 and eRD105, and those that submitted a proposal, eRD114 and eRD115, for the first time.

The length of each presentation varies depending if you present a status report and a proposal or only one of them. There are between 5-10 min reserved for Q&A which is indicated on the agenda. Note also that, as was the case the last time, eRD104/eRD111/eRD113 are combined into one longer talk.

Status report should contain:

  *   results from FY23 efforts
  *   status of FY23 milestones

Proposals talks should contain

  *   open R&D questions to be complete the R&D program before CD-3
  *   plan for FY24
  *   deliverables for FY24 and their connection to the R&D completion dates
  *   plans/proposals for FY25 (incl. rough $ prediction) and their connection to the R&D completion dates (please fold in that in DOE projects the expected completion date for R&D is at CD-2, with only rare exceptions possible)

Status & proposal talks needs both of course.

Should you also have submitted a generic R&D proposals please indicate this on your slides.

The meeting is open except where indicated.

The meeting will be ZOOM meeting, no travel needed.

Details such as zoom connections and the like will be provided in time. What we need from each of you is the name of the speaker(s).
