[Esr-users] ESR is running and producing Liquid Helium into the 10, 000Liter dewar

Hi All,

Good News! ESR is running and producing liquid Helium. Liquid started to collect yesterday at ~5pm and is now at 18%. The current plan is to install the 3 sets of 4K U-tubes (supply and return) for all 3 halls this afternoon. Cryo will leave the 4K supply and return valves in the ESR Valve box closed (CEV6711X and CEV6721X X being A, B, or C) until each hall and the ESR are ready for flow. The plan is for Hall C to cool first and to get its magnets on cold return as soon a possible. Hall B will wait until Hall C is done unless there is extra capacity or some reason Hall C needs to delay some magnets. Cryo would like to maintain about 40% helium level in its dewar but this can vary somewhat. The main issue is handling the gas and having gas and purifier capacity ready for the 2K pumpdown and cryomodule fills in the Linacs when CHL 1 comes back on line next week.
