Dear g12 spokespersons and g12 run group members,
as you well know g12 members are in the process of producing some
analysis notes (as well as phd thesis) reporting results based on g12
data. Since g12 is acting coherently discussing progress in weekly
meeting and ti is well organized, rather than scrutinize each individual
note, I would prefer to have a single review of the all basic steps
common to the different analysis. This includes: trigger issues,
normalization, particle identification, calibration, cooking,
corrections, fiducial cuts ...

For this purpose I set up a review committee in charge of review the
whole g12 run group.
Members of the review committee (Eugene Pasyuk - chairman-, Raffaella De
Vita, Mike Dugger, Yordanka Ilieva) have been chosen according their
(high level) competences and experience in photoproduction runs. Since
this is the first time we are setting up such a procedure, the full set
of rules will be decided along the path under the supervision of the
HSWG chairman and the CLAS Coordinating Committee.

I'm expecting that g12 run group will provide full support and
collaboration to the review, nominating one or two representatives that
will collect the documentation and will interact with the review committee.
Once the review will be over, all the analyses based on the approved
framework will have a fast track for the further review steps that will
only process the physics output and the details of the specific analysis
(not included in the general framework).

This can be considered a sort of a test for the future of CLAS12 where
we hope to have a single review that will check basic things leaving to
review committees to review the physics results and the high-level
analysis procedures.

I would ask the g12 experiment spokesperson, with the help of the whole
run group, to provide:
- a list of the analysis based on g12 data set (including phd thesis)
indicating the status: active, sleeping, dead
- one or preferably two representatives in charge of interacting with
the committee.
The review committee will establish a list of items that will be
scrutinized and will have to be documented by the g12 rungroup.

The next Collaboration meeting will be a good time to have a public
discussion on this initiative therefore, I would like to start this
process immediately, collecting your input by November 1st.
Let me know if you have any suggestions and or comments that we may
incorporate in the Committee charge and/or to the review procedure.
Thanks in advance
Marco
