Dear All,
Our group meeting is tomorrow at 9:00 am. We will discuss the progress in physics analyses, especially the status of nucleon PDF calculation using distillation (Christos and Colin) and plans for present and near future projects (Kostas).
** There is a CNF meeting at 11:00 am (Transverse Imaging, M. Burkardt) and we would like to contain our group meeting within one hour.
The bluejeans connection information is: https://bluejeans.com/995917175
Thank you.
-Raza

PRACE award
We congratulated Savvas, Colin and Christos on their hard work that resulted in a very impressive award under PRACE.
Allocations
Rather brief minutes here, as most of the discussion was focused on the allocation spreadsheet. In summary, we have now considerable resources spread across a variety of architectures and sites, and it was important that they be used efficiently. Thus there is now a google sheets spreadsheet that we will use to keep track of our running and update as appropriate. This spreadsheet is organized by resource (DR in particular is concerned about his use of USQCD resources), but KO was going to construct a spreadsheet organized by physics project.
A few points what is encapsulated in the above
• There is a new, far more efficient version Genprop4 used to compute the generalized perambulators. Before using that in earnest on on-going projects, it needs testing. FW on Frontera?
• Keeping a record of ensembles, and where they are, is becoming a challenge. DR will put together a google sheet with that information.
• In that regard, precision continuum limit calculations at 270 MeV seems high priority.
• With the need both for our colleagues to get the best possible positions, and to justify applications in the future, getting papers out asap is important, e.g. the first "unpolarized" results with distillation.
Gluon Unpolarized PDFs
RS should his analysis of the unpolarized gluon PDFs vs Ioffe time. He was talking with Xiangdong next week, and indeed writing a paper showing that a large range of x was available without going to large z. We would continue this discussion next week.
Next Meeting
Following out alternating Wednesday/Friday schedule, the next meeting would be Wednesday 30th Sept at 9am
