Dear David,

Thank you for your proposal and data-management plan for USQCD resources, entitled

“Parton Distribution Functions and Amplitudes of the Pseudoscalar Mesons and the Nucleon from Lattice QCD”

The Scientific Program Committee has begun its review and, after a first reading, has a few comments and questions.

a) Are there plans or timeline to analyze isosinglet contributions to PDFs of pion and kaon, and especially compare light vs. strange components in the kaon?

b) The data volumes associated with distillation are usually quite large. What is the I/O overhead of calculation? is I/O optimized and/or parallelized accordingly?

We ask you or one of your collaborators to address these questions in an email by 26 April. Although we think that it is probably not necessary, if you decide to submit a revised proposal, please do so before 26 April.
