[Halla12_software] detector definition: DD4hep

I was unfamiliar until I saw this with ROOT's TGeo classes and their use in
defining geometry for multiple (GEANT3, GEANT4, FLUKA) MC engines. Given
our interest in supporting both GEANT4 and FLUKA this may be worth looking
into. There's a presentation (from 2007) here:
