Minutes of Hall A Group Meeting June 26, 2012
1)	Bob Michaels
a)	FY13 budget discussions are ongoing
i)	OPS will decrease
ii)	Capital will increase
iii)	Very limited hiring
b)	Counting House renovations:
i)	July 9 contract will be awarded
ii)	1st floor will be unavailable for 8 months starting 1st 
week in August
iii)	In July we need to get things out that we might need 
and/or want to keep out of harm?s way
iv)	Plan to move computers into Hall A
v)	Anything you think you?ll want should come out
vi)	Need to know more about the details of the planned work
c)	PAC39:
i)	SOLID, 2 approved
ii)	CREX conditionally approved, need to strengthen the 
Physics case
iii)	GEn/GMn deferred
2)	Robin Wines
a)	12 GeV Upgrade: finishing up on all parts
i)	Compton: finishing field plates, otherwise parts are 
coming in
ii)	Møller: all parts ordered except the doors (REQ 
submitted having problem with procurement over sole 
source). Magnet is due in August, seeing if we can 
expedite it.
iii)	Question re field measuring requirements for new Møller 
quad and Compton dipole.
(1)	Re Møller quad, Javier says measurement similar to 
what was done on the old magnets should suffice. He 
will check with Yves if beam transport needs anything 
more.
(2)	Sirish will provide Compton requirements. He has 
already spoken with magnet measuring people. Will be 
done in situ, just need to schedule.
(3)	Probably be good to do both at the same time, in 
the Hall and using the same crew.
b)	SBS have configuration layouts ready
c)	Working on A1n
d)	SOLID: looking at getting the CLEO magnet from Cornel
i)	Doing layout, checking fit in the Hall
ii)	Evaluating the needed modifications
3)	Ed Folts
a)	Møller upgrade on hold waiting for parts
b)	Compton upgrade: they started disassembly this morning
c)	Continuing to de-install g2p
d)	Making progress with cryogenics upgrades
4)	Bogdan Wojtsekhowski supervising students
5)	Jian-Ping Chen
a)	SOLID Collaboration meeting two weeks ago went pretty well
i)	Next meeting/dry run expected in August/September 
timeframe
b)	Polarized 3He target lab:
i)	Doing some tests
ii)	Have new convective cell to be set up
6)	Kalyan Allada
a)	Defended the SOLID proposal before the PAC last week 
(successfully!)
b)	Checking the status of BigBite lead glass
