Minutes of Hall A Group Meeting May 29, 2012
1)	Bob Michaels
a)	 Discusses Counting House Renovations:
i)	Long list of things that will be done
ii)	Bottom line is the counting room will be a hostile 
environment for equipment and work.
iii)	Tentative plan is to put the computers and network 
equipment in the Hall
iv)	There are other options
v)	Ole wonders if we need to setup workstations in the Hall
vi)	Sirish wants to move the Compton computer to the 
Compton lab in the ARC.
vii)	Bob will organize the logistics. If you have any ideas 
give them to Bob (rom at jlab.org)
2)	Ed Folts
a)	Making good progress
b)	Power supplies disconnected
c)	Pivot still too hot to work on
d)	Bled up the beamline this morning
3)	Whit Seay
a)	Doing layouts of A1n, SBS, PREX II, and APEX
b)	Y-tube for PREX II is ready to go (when we have money)
c)	PREX II target work
d)	Re the downstream extension box, expect quotes soon
e)	Got quotes on seal, expensive, may go with knife edge 
instead.
f)	Doing final little bit of design for the Møller 12 GeV 
Upgrade
4)	Sirish Nanda
a)	Compton synchrotron radiation issue:
i)	Solution involves modifying fields in magnets
(1)	May need to remap the magnets
(2)	Exploring possibilities
5)	Doug Higinbotham
a)	Has students working in the TED High Bay area, nice spot and 
building
b)	Meeting tomorrow re tritium experiments
c)	Working on special PAC reports
6)	Ole Hansen
a)	Working on talk for the 12 GeV Software review next week
7)	Jixie Zhang
a)	Working with students to optimize g2p optics
b)	Going back to his thesis data
8)	Jian-Ping Chen
a)	Coulomb Sum Rule Collaboration meeting last week identified 
three issues:
i)	Acceptance finalization
ii)	Radiative corrections
iii)	NaI detector analysis
iv)	Next meeting in 2 months
b)	Polarized 3He target, A1n collaboration meeting last week
i)	Need to finalize designs
(1)	Cell size
(2)	Existing coil vs. new magnet
(3)	Support structure questions
c)	Target lab work is ongoing
i)	Laser problems
(1)	Working with the company
(2)	Probably buy more next year
ii)	SULI summer students working in the target lab
