1) Doug Higinbotham
a) Thanks to all who helped with the Open House. It was a big
success. ~8,000 people visited the site. Feedback was very
positive
2) Jian-Ping Chen
a) g2p:
i) Finished data taking
(1) Finished 2.2 GeV
(2) Got part of 3.3 GeV
(3) No septum out data taken
(4) Got 60% of the data expected (mostly lost septum
out data)
ii) Thanks to all for their hard work
3) Doug Higinbotham
a) adds that GEp got all their low Q2 points
i) Will soon know the slope at low Q2!
b) There?s an OSP going around that wants to use the 2nd floor
of the counting house. It has two problems:
i) There will be construction work being done on the 1st
floor which may interfere (need to straighten this out
with facilities)
ii) There will likely be no air conditioning during the
construction
4) Ed Folts
a) Proceeding taking things apart
b) RADCON is very busy
c) Accelerator is running some tests
5) Jack Segal
a) Fencing around the pivot is down
b) Cleaned up cables on the floor
c) Some cables are hot. Will leave them in the Hall for now
d) Will be away for 2 weeks
6) Robin Wines
a) 12 GeV:
i) Compton things are coming in (all parts ordered)
ii) Møller have a few parts to draw yet
b) APEX II: extension box and last seal
c) PREX II: Target
d) SBS magnet layout
e) Starting on A1n
7) Patrizia Rossi
a) Has staff introduce themselves
b) Asks about the plan for the long shutdown. Ed says the
detailed plan is on the technical webpage and he will
provide her with a hard copy.
8) Sirish Nanda
a) Compton Upgrade:
i) Can wait till next week for bleed up
ii) Having a meeting tomorrow (5/23) to discuss solutions
to the synchrotron radiation problem
iii) Old DAQ computer will be upgraded soon
(1) It has lots of files on it
(2) Sirish will only backup what?s essential
(3) If you have anything there you want, get it before
June 15.
9) Alexandre Camsonne
a) MRPC data taking is done
i) Detector is activated. Must wait to ship it.
b) Moving GEM?s etc. back to Mark Jones? setup
c) Preparing a talk for the A1n collaboration meeting this
Thursday-Friday (5/24-25)
10) Kalyan Allada
a) Analyzing inclusive Hadron data
b) Working on SOLID simulations
c) Preparing for Meson Conference next week
11) Jixie Zhang
a) Made Møller measurement at 3.3 GeV
b) Working on optics optimization
c) Optimizing the data
12) Jian-Ping Chen
a) Organizing offline analysis of g2p data
b) Coulomb Sum Rule Collaboration meeting this Friday (5/25)
i) Making progress but still not finalized
c) Polarized 3He target
i) Doing studies in the lab
ii) 1st get all in working order
iii) Do studies for the future
iv) Ed Folts asks about fiber optics for A1n.
(1) J-P says need to finalize plans
(2) Gives long explanation of target development
issues (costs etc.)
d) SOLID: organizing dry run for the next collaboration meeting
e) Several successful parasitic tests were run during g2p
13) Bogdan Wojtsekhowski

i) DAQ?
ii) VDC electronics? (will use Qweak amplifier cards)
iii) Trigger scintillator upgrade ($50k)
iv) Will require manpower. Worried that there?s a lot else
going on that will require manpower as well.
c) Claims he has an informal agreement to get $2M worth of
fastbus electronics for the cost of shipping
14) John LeRose
a) Keeping track of 12 GeV upgrade work
