Minutes of Hall A Group Meeting October 2, 2012
1)	Thia Keppel
a)	Senior Staff meeting:
i)	Performance appraisal process has started
ii)	The lab has some extra salary funds. There will be some 
small salary adjustments for more junior staff
iii)	Vacation balances were reviewed (top ten in the lab 
were listed)
iv)	The Science Education Group has received a prestigious 
award from DOE
v)	EIC white paper will be available for comment in a few 
days for 2-3 weeks. Read it and make your comments.
vi)	Counting house renovation schedule is out (see link)
vii)	The lab is evaluating technical manpower needs for the 
next year
viii)	Foreign visitor issue is still unsettled. Mont 
will be sending around a memo to clarify things. If you 
are planning to have a foreign visitor come here, see 
Stephanie ASAP.
ix)	We will be asked to update our beam specs soon.
x)	Doors are still locked for heightened security. Will 
reevaluate this week.
b)	SBS is now a DOE project. We will have to report monthly to 
DOE etc.
c)	Møller Collaboration meeting was held last week. Javier will 
report next week.
d)	We will keep the Hall B large angle calorimeter
e)	Hall A Collaboration meeting will be December 10-12.
2)	Ed Folts
a)	Møller 4th quad is in mapping. Hope to have it back tomorrow.
b)	Compton magnets will be mapped in place.
i)	Building mounts to move the mapper
c)	Cryo is moving along
3)	Robin Wines
a)	DVCS/GMp:
i)	Joyce to start on the swing arm
ii)	Need more information about:
(1)	Running schedule
(2)	Collimators
(3)	Shielding
(4)	?
b)	A1N: 
i)	starting on holding field coils and support stand
ii)	Made a layout of the oven with the double cell design
c)	Laser lab: the doors are too small. What to do?
d)	Need drawings of Polarized 3He target cell. (Gordon will be 
here tomorrow, 10/3. Can get it from him.)
e)	SBS: working on concept for magnet support, removing the 
link on HRSL is a serious consideration.
f)	Contacted cryo to review drawings of the updated cryo 
system. Want to make sure all will work well with their 
system.
g)	APEX: working on cost for the extension box design
4)	Bert Manzlak
a)	Please check your training records. Make sure you have all 
the training required and that all that is required is 
really required. You can have your requirements changed by 
your supervisor or Bruce Ullman.
