Minutes of Hall A Group Meeting February 5, 2013
1)	Thia Keppel
a)	From the Senior Staff Meeting
i)	Rolf is in DC for the budget briefing
ii)	Medical fees will go up 11% (this will 1st appear in the 
March 31 paychecks)
iii)	Laboratory Directed Research and Development funds 
(LDRD) will be available starting in FY14
(1)	LOI?s are due by February 28 (not required)
(2)	Proposals are due April 30
(3)	Funding starts October 1
(4)	Must have a lab employee as PI
(5)	$500k direct funding available
(6)	Maximum project funding is $200k/year including 
overhead
iv)	NSAC facilities charge: CEBAF12, RHIC, ATLAS, and EIC 
will be presented
v)	Friday (2/8) JSA Science Council meeting (not public)
b)	If you want a SALI (summer student) review the resumes and 
get your request in by Friday (2/8)
c)	Contract was awarded for the ARC Laser Lab
d)	Reminds that all system that will be running at 12 GeV will 
need to go through a readiness procedure. Think about it.
2)	Robin Wines
a)	GMp/DVCS:
i)	Finished engineering and calculations
ii)	Expect drawings very soon for sign-off
iii)	Doing work on cabling support
b)	Compton: doing fixes as they come
c)	SBS:
i)	Continuing on counter-weight support system
ii)	Iterating with Bogdan on steel cutout configuration
iii)	Working on detector supports
iv)	Working on coil drawings
v)	Working on field clamps
vi)	Working on solenoid field exclusion magnet
d)	Answering questions as they come in for APEX, CREX, SOLID, 
Møller target, 3He, etc.
3)	Ed Folts
a)	Cryo work continues. Still have some software issues
b)	Kludge is setup for collimators
c)	Beam line through the Møller is all installed and leak 
checked. Last thing to do for the Møller ?12 GeV Upgrade? is 
magnet power supply testing. Should be done this week.
d)	Ready to raise the second Compton Dipole. Sirish will tell 
him when he?s ready
4)	Bert Manzlak
a)	More on work control documents
i)	They have gatekeepers
ii)	Must sign them to work on the affected system
iii)	For all changes must go through the subject matter 
expert
iv)	When done, pull the document or secure the setup
v)	Document must be wherever the setup is
5)	Keith Welch gives talk on Beam Dump Upgrade Planning
