Minutes of Hall A Group Meeting: February 28, 2017

1. Thia Keppel
   a. Senior Staff 
     i. Benefits – Open enrollment ends today (2-28-17)
     ii. Property validation in progress
       1. Must be completed by 3-31-17
     iii. Deadline for thesis prize competition extended to 3-7-17
       1. Only small number received at the moment – encourage good students/advisors to apply
     iv. July 13-14, 2017 EIC detector R&D meeting at JLab (Also PAC week)
     v. April 19, 2017 NAS EIC committee meeting – not open
   b. Hall Business
     i. PREX/CREX Collaboration meeting March 3-4, 2017
     ii. SoLID Collaboration meeting March 5-6, 2017
     iii. Please sign up for shifts!
     iv. 3 Hall run through March 23rd (A, C, & D)
     v. Hall A Postdoc position now posted – encourage good applicants & apply!

2. Robin Wines
   a. SBS
     i. Continue on beamline vertical supports and brackets, BigBite detector frame and polarized 3He target
   b. SoLID
     i. Started attending weekly meetings again as collaboration works more on magnet and detector design
   c. Moller
     i. Received progress report from MIT
     ii. Extending their contract to May for completion of required work from them
   d. PREX/CREX
     i. Reviewed manpower estimates to complete, will begin review of cost estimate

3. Jessie Butler
   a. First full week for taking beam
   b. Beam studies on Tuesday, both HRS angles changed and surveyed on Wednesday, and both HRS changed again on Friday
   c. Repaired vacuum pumps and cleaning up our area in Physics storage

4. Jack Segal
   a. Largely supporting getting Hall C ready
