Minutes of Hall A Group Meeting: August 8, 2017

1. Steve Wood
   a. Senior Staff
     i. Promotions and salary increases start August 16, 2017, will see in September 15th check
     ii. CR budget for next  year flat
     iii. PR’s over 50k will now have overhead charges
     iv. Parking around VARC (SSC Building) for Tech Center coming soon
     v. Facilities has been working on “access controls” in Hall A

2. Robin Wines
   a. SBS
    i. Went over beamline assembly, we are trying to order parts to build one test section by end of August
    ii. Continue on HCal base support and platform
    iii. Waiting for response on floor plate RFI
    iv. Received design of CDET to integrate into HCal and ECal design
    v. Continue on polarized 3He target to get magnetic shield box done
    vi. Grinch analysis for gas system
   b. APEX
    i. Corrector coils out for bid
   c. PREX2/CREX
    i. Septum coil out for bid
    ii. Ordered Tungsten for collimator
    iii. Working on collimator design
    iv. Alan will have update on collimator cost on Wednesday

3. Jessie Butler
   a. If you are doing work in the hall you must wear pants. No shorts allowed in the hall.
   b. Working with designers and engineers on SBS exit beamline shielding
   c. Installed windows on target chamber and begin pump down
   d. Worked on software to be used to control the helium return automatic valves
   e. Switch over magnet heaters to new GFCI set-up
   f. Disassembled the beamline to remove all silicon
   g. Assembled exit beamline and target chamber and began pumping down for leak check
   h. Made lead flags for APEX magnet
   i. Move electronics rack from Test Lab to ESB
   j. Moved HCAL “Up-ender” from laydown area to Test Lab
   k. Made new slimmer guards for the beamline side of LQ1 so HRS can reach 12.5 degrees
     l. Received the final weldment needed to start HCAL assembly but the weldment showed up pretty beat up and 
        has not been signed off to go into use (engineers working with vendor to get this rectified

4. Ed Folts
   a. Fall protection issue in CHL, lessons learned
    i. Harness was tied off to a temporary rail
    ii. This was caught by DOE 
   b. Please check your trainings and get up – to- date
