Minutes of Hall A Group Meeting: August 22, 2017

1. Thia Keppel
   a. Senior Staff
      i. Discussion of CHL inadequate fall protection, lessons learned
      ii. Abandoned metal pipe found burning behind ResFac, reporting problems – lessons learned to follow
      iii. Injury/illness data
        1. First aid up, spread across halls (good thing, shows comfort)
        2. Report head bumps (one minor report turned into hospital call)
        3. Overall very good for the amount of work that gets done
        4. Shows 12 GeV installation work
        5. Only 2-3 small cases where should have done better
      iv. Lab trying to set up a lab agenda, high goals to reach each year EIC reorganization with Fulvia gone, 
          will resume summer meetings after summer hiatus
   b. Hall business
      i. Don’t forget safety document submission before run
        1. Hall A early this time ~ 1 month before run, some on Tritium wiki, more coming!
      ii. Cryo fixes helped
      iii. Costing PREX2/CREX

2. Robin Wines
   a. SBS
     i. Cost estimates for floor plates came in
     ii. Can not find existing platform for HCal use, will need to add cost of new one
     iii. Working on CDet support attachment to ECal & HCal 
     iv. HCal support in engineering check
     v. Put beam line shielding assembly parts purchase on hold for funding
     vi. Continue on polarized 3He target
   b. PREX/CREX
     i. Tungsten and collimator material on order
     ii. Still need to submit $17k work order to shop
     iii. Procurement still trying to get septum coil out for bid
   c. APEX
     i. Corrector magnet coil bids due Aug 29

3. Jessie Butler
   a. Continue to look over the cryogenic and vacuum systems for heat loads following the Hall C magnet dump 
      that took place on Wednesday
   b. The dump appears to have had a lesser impact on Hall A thanks to the changes Cryo Group put in place
   c. Began moving the RHRS into 12.5 degrees so that we can finish making streamline guards for RQ1
     i. Movement was halted after we lost a transistor on one of the drive modules
   d. Assisted Gregg and Eric with moving around the HCal modules in Test Lab so they can change out the end 
      plates
   e. Cleaned up and organized some of our equipment while working in Test Lab
   f. Changed out 24V power supply on distribution can
   g. Target Group continues work on their installation 
   h. Safety Systems Group continue to work on and test the PSS equipment

4. Jack Segal
   a. APEX magnet testing
   b. Replaced drive module on RHRS early this week
