Minutes of Hall A Group Meeting: January 30, 2018
1. Thia Keppel
a. Senior Staff Meeting
i. Property validation, physics 48% complete, slightly under average
ii. Need to get a property pass far laptops going home…if you did one, you might have an expired one
(should have an email about it at some point in the past)
iii. GEN150 has issues, property validation training, need it but wait until its fixed…must pass test
before actually doing your property validation – which we need also to do
iv. They suggested going through areas, offices to find untagged items – physics not in favor of this
but,for now, make sure your desk is viewable
v. Budget….just impressions….Stuart in DC last week (2/12 is our budget briefing), expect difficult times,
maybe FY19 worse than this year FY18
vi. 12 GeV celebration later than February
vii. ESR going down in Summer, need Hall plans!

to fix a liquid level probe/meter issue that caused the RQ2 to trip
c. Continued to fabricate the braces and cross mounts for the HCal subassemblies

c. Victor 24V Power Supply repair
i. Replacement module on order, chassis ready for power supply installation after 4th module repaired and

d. Looked at the HRS right dipole and eliminated noise on the sense lines as a likely problem. The next
likely culprit is overheating in the power supply.
e. The HRS left dipole PLC again demonstrating controls problems
f. HRS Right Arm bogies’ control is down, likely for good. We managed a manual move. But, we will need to
come up with something a bit more reliable. A number of scenarios are available to be discussed
