Minutes of Hall A Group Meeting: November 13, 2018

1. Thia Keppel
   a. Hall A Notes
     i. Hall A/C Postdoc ad is out – encourage good applicants
     ii. PREX2/CREX collaboration meeting last week successful, work to do but….
        1. Happy with new target
        2. ~ on track
     iii. Running ok, still planning for Thanksgiving stop (Wednesday morning)
     iv. Preparing for Director’s Reviews
        1. Working with SoLID on costs
        2. MOLLER on costs and management structure
   b. Senior Staff
     i. No Senior Staff meeting next week
     ii. Safety
        1. Small group pulsing g-2 magnets @ Fermilab
        2. Placing Pb bricks, 2 steel bricks in there for holding down floor
        3. Brick pulled in fold, hit resistive magnet yoke
        4. Good to paint bricks, turn magnets off while mechanical work going on, provide Pb worker training
     iii. Performance Appraisals
        1. 5 outstanding self-assessments
     iv. 11/26 is calibration meeting…..all numbers have to be in before that  Thursday at the latest
     v. The new experiment schedule is out!
     vi. 11/28 Mandatory supervisors meeting with Stuart
        1. Don’t have to go if on vacation
        2. Donuts with Director feedback

2. Robin Wines
   a. APEX
     i. Resolving issues in fabrication of extension box and sci-fi for ease of assembly
     ii. Sieve in fabrication
   b. PREX2/CREX
     i. Sieve drawings in review
     ii. Reworking dump shielding
     iii. Ready to start Q1 collimators
   c. SBS
     i. Continue layout and review recommendations
   d. SoLID
     i. Reviewing costs

3. Jessie Butler
   a. Continue to work on APEX preparations
   b. Finish welding and leak checking the target motion bellows
   c. Finish welding and leak checking the sci-fi detector feed-throughs
   d. Began making guards for APEX septum lead flags and buss bars
   e. Continue to work with Silviu and Sandesh on target assembling and testing motion mechanism
   f. Began putting together the turbo cart for Javier
   g. Started working on removing the extra epoxy from the PREX coil
