Minutes of Hall A Group Meeting: February 19, 2019


1.      Thia Keppel

a.       No Senior Staff meeting



2.      Robin Wines

a.       PREX/CREX

                                                              i.      Concrete shielding and concrete supports awarded - due in early April

                                                            ii.      Q1 collimators in procurement

                                                          iii.      Sieve rotation device in fabrication

                                                          iv.      Working on drawing of installation fixture for collimator assembly

                                                            v.      Magnetic shielding boxes being fabricated

                                                          vi.      Started on target design

                                                        vii.      Reviewing welding documentation on  collimator can and vacuum chambers

b.      SBS

                                                              i.      Continue on CDet

                                                            ii.      Tower extension delivered

                                                          iii.      Beam line shielding hardware drawing/assembly packages completed

                                                          iv.      Started on GEN-RP detector design

c.       MOLLER

                                                              i.      Working on updates to overall layout

                                                            ii.      Provided shielding and electronics hut design and cost updates

d.      SoLID

                                                              i.      Contacted Cornell again to get cost estimate for moving steel this summer - no response

                                                            ii.      Reviewing gas system plans



3.      Jessie Butler

a.       Spent the week supporting the APEX run and also began with PREX/CREX preparations

b.      Made 3 hall accesses during the week to address a few concerns

c.       Had an access on Monday evening to address some cryogenic and networking issues

d.      Thursday we took another access to look at target chamber vacuum

e.       Friday we took another short access to reboot an IOC

f.        The remainder of the week working on QA/QC of some PREX parts and equipment

g.      Worked on completing final documentation of the APEX installation

h.      Also received and stored part of SBS tower extension and worked on welding SBS Transversity beam line
