Beam to Hall D was restored during OWL this morning and they continued their
program. Unfortunately the accumulated delays pushed beam to Hall A back
at least 1 more day.
So, it looks like no beam to Hall A until Friday at the earliest.
Shifts remain canceled through Thursday OWL as before. Thursday DAY and
SWING, and Friday shift crew should watch their emails for updates.
A target cooldown is still planned for Thursday DAY. If it succeeds then
target practical training *may* occur during Thursday SWING and possibly into
Friday DAY shift. Target operators should stay tuned and make an effort to
attend if possible.
A classroom target training session is still planned for 1:30-3:30 on 11/6
(Thursday) in CEBEAF Center room B101. Contact JP Chen <jpchen at jlab.org> if
you are a TO to get trained. Note that you will probably need the practical
as well -- talk to JP or Greg Smith for details.
We will be having a meeting tomorrow (Wednesday) at 4pm in the Counting House.
----------------------
Plans (Tentative)
----------------------
- Wednesday:
- DAQ stress test
- ROC sync monitoring needed
- use EDTM(?) to trigger both LHRS and Calorim at high rates
- verify no bottlenecks in system: ROCS-->DAQ--->Tape
- test buffering mode
- Thursday:
* suggest MCC do complete any remaining HCO items during DAY shift (avoid
interference with target cooldown through)
- ie. then MCC can do repairs on Friday day before final lock-up
- target cool down (DAY shift)
- target training (afternoon)
* when/if warm target back up ?
- one suggestion (discussed with Greg) is to warm up on Friday DAY
at the latest
* that means solid targets /only/ over the weekend
- Friday:
- RF separation work during OWL and DAY shift, possible beam in SWING
? warm up cryo target during DAY shift ?
----------------------------------------------------------
Punch list Items (accumulated from my notes + whiteboard)
----------------------------------------------------------
- "Bullet point" run plan for RC and shift crew
- Some items are here:
DVCS: https://hallaweb.jlab.org/wiki/index.php/Run_Plan_%28DVCS3%29
GMp: https://hallaweb.jlab.org/wiki/index.php/Commissioning_Run_Plan
- Online checklist for shift crew
- SuperHarps (Sue Whitherspoon, ???)
- 5/6 working, we're missing hardware for the 6th
- missing harp is just upstream of target (confirm)
* need to have a commissioning plan that takes this into account, WHICH 5/6
harps should be set up to work now
- do we want to 'swap' the hardware to get the 6th working at some point and
do a bulls-eye scan to calibrate the associated BPMs?
- BCMs (Luke)
- confirm all BCMs are in data stream
- Unser status?
- Moller status (Roman on-site next week?)
- ARC energy equipment status?
- F1 TDC readout and decoding (Steve, Alex, Marco)
- missing level translator module needed to feed some signals to F1s (Alex)
- F1 decoding not in analyzer? (Marco)
- Scaler setup
- add Busy to 2nd scaler (Norman)
- tests using artificial busy (Marco, Norman)
- Crate sync scalers and/or ADCs (Paul)
- "Add new decoding stuff into DVCS analyzer" (Carlos)
- not sure what this means
- Cosmics checkout questions (Kijun, ???)
- GMP trigger mode vs. DVCS trigger mode (not sure of the difference)
- Helicity signals (Buddhini, Alex)
- signals plugged in, but not clear what the associated FB ADC channels are
- Logbook fixes (Brad)
- I added some 'pre-filtered' lists under 'Useful Links'
- let me know if there are others you want
- send me your list of annoyances...
- New TCL/tk 'halog' utility (new logbook only) (Brad)
- Firefox seems to be broken on adaq cluster?
- HRS angle snapshots into DAQ (Brad)
