RC Update: 10/22/2022
We are currently taking production data on the polarized helium-3 target. With no major issues to report, I suggest we skip todays RC meeting.

Summary of activities since yesterday:
Paul started the parity DAQ up. It is currently running

During SWING shift, 1L10 dropped out of HV, bringing down the accelerator for ~2 hours: https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4065504
The polarized target group to the opportunity to take several EPR measurements to help characterize the target.
Some notes from Hunter: https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4065553
And additional comments from Gordon regarding the polarization: https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4065642

Since these measurements caused the polarization to drop to ~20%, we adjusted the run plan to opportunistically perform a luminosity scan for the SBS GEMs
Unfortunately, MCC could not deliver 5 uA on the carbon optics target to begin the study so it was abandoned.
Holly's notes and comments regarding the attempted luminosity scan.
Simona is looking into what the issue could be.

Afterwards, the polarization of the target was above 25%, so an additional beam checkout was performed to ensure the beam position and raster we what we expected and we subsequently began production on the polarized Helium-3 target during OWL and DAY
The CODA configuration was changed to noSBSGems config to check for any differences in the number of CODA crashes: https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4065803

When moving the target to the pickup coils for a NMR measurement, there was a Laser fiber temp alarm which was addressed by the TO: https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4066058
Arun stopped in to check everything out and he and Bill updated the trip limits on the Fire Safety RTD: https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4066110

The rest of the weekend will be spent taking polarized Helium-3 data. The current has increased closer to the 45 uA but we are still trying to work with Hall C to ensure smooth beam delivery (and acceptable beam current) over the weekend.
Have a great weekend!

Mike Nycz, Hall A RC
