RC report:
The laser safety inspection yesterday passed on most points, but was not fully approved due to an inactive smoke alarm in the laser room. This was properly hooked up this AM and I have not yet heard whether the committee will reconvene to provide approval for weekend laser activities or not. There was a meeting of key players last night where the following sequence was agreed upon to get beam in the hall asap:
0. Jack Segal gets priority for magnet tests. He will be working to resolve
1. Check the operation of the oven to ensure it works as expected because the target will have to be hot for survey
2. In parallel, Jessie will work with the laser committee to get approval for the laser
3. Work will continue throughout the weekend to prepare the target and gas lines for the reference cell. Once Jack has the magnets operable, then Todd gets priority for working on the target and gas.
4. Jessie will work to have the gas system inspected and approved for operation.
5. Mark will work with Ed Welch to get the RSAD finalized and approved. There may be a need to have modification of procedure to account for radiation coming off the copper collimator.
6. Once the target ladder including optics targets and gas lines and connections is installed, we will have survey and alignment come on Tuesday to survey key positions on the ladder and the optics holder.
7. Jessie will begin hot checkout as soon as he considers it reasonable, but expect it to take more than a day. We will aim to lock up either late Wednesday or early Thursday and hope to bring beam into the hall on Thursday as scheduled.
