[Hallb] Delay in startup of CEBAF: New date for beam to physics is August 4

Dear all,

Preparations for the next physics run are in full swing in the halls and on the CEBAF machine. Hall-B made good progress on the detector maintenance and repair. The forward carriage is already back in its running position. The hall engineering and target groups are in the final steps of constructing our new cryo target system. Everything for the beam dump upgrade is on hand, and the work will start soon.

Unfortunately, with all this progress, there have been some unforeseen delays in the machine restorations. These delays will push back the startup of the machine and the start of physics. The new date for the beam to physics is now August 4, 2023. Please stay tuned for an email from PDL on shift cancellations.
