[Hallb] [EXTERNAL] Update on beam

The report from the DP is that there are two areas that the accel crews are working on in order to restore beam.

As described briefly to me, there is some type of water leak [downtime manager: LCW leak in access building] that is forcing some cavities to be shut down.

Possible solutions:

  *   Fix the leak and restore the cavities to operational mode
  *   Boost the gradients in other cavities to get the beam up to the requested energy.

The outlook is unclear.  The crews are not willing to provide an estimate because there is some hope that with a bit of luck we may see beam before tomorrow morning.  If beam is not restored, then perhaps there will be a more complete update at tomorrow mornings meetings.
