SVT Meeting Minutes: Wednesday, July 29, 2009

Present: Amrit Yegneswaran, Anna Shabalina, Brain Eng, Peter Bonneau,
Saptarshi Mandal, Werth Teachey, J.J. Robertson

•	Discussion on the current status of the SVT sensor procurement and the
review of the MOU for MSU. We have finished updating the sensor
specification as requested by procurement and other documentation needed
for the RFI package. Drawings are near completion.

•	Amrit reviewed the procedural steps for the sensor procurement for
those not aware of the complexities.

•	Talk of the upcoming steps needed to produce the 1st modules, delivery
of sensors, assembly by MSU, and testing by UNH. With the current
schedule, the first modules are expected ~April 2011.

•	Discussion about the procedure for numbering drawings. The Mechanical
Group self-generates numbers without the aid of document control. This
will be investigated for the SVT drawings to save time.

•	Discussion on the drawings for the upcoming SVT review. They are
currently working on the barrel drawings. Upon competition, they will
move on to the FST.

•	Review drawings of the module support components and cooling.

•	Amrit talked about of the importance of reviewing any change to the
design. The current design has been simulated and any change can serious
degrade the physics capabilities of the detector.

•	Questions on the cut-out in the module for the hybrid’s wing cable
assembly. The Mechanical Group prefers the 4 mm cut-out on one side of
the module rather than having 2 mm off both sides.

•	Discussion on the +/- 20 micron tolerance on the sensors and wafer
dicing lane.

•	Much discussion on the dimensional and material information to be used
for simulation of the FST. The module cross-section (sandwich layers)
was reviewed. Due to the complexities, the completion of the simulation
by the review is in question.
