SVT Meeting Minutes: Wednesday, August 5, 2009
Present: Amrit Yegneswaran, Anna Shabalina, Brain Eng, Dave Kashy, J.J.
Robertson, Latifa Elouadrhiri, Peter Bonneau, Saptarshi Mandal, Werth
Teachey
• Discussion on the current status of the mechanical design effort. The
alignment and manufacturing tolerances of the SVT components need to be
established. A CLAS-note by Amrit on SVT alignment issues based on what
other labs have done is available. Mechanical group will review the
paper and comment on what they think is possible in regards to
alignment, etc. for Jlab’s SVT support structure. This would include an
independent costs analysis by the mechanical group.
• Discussion on mechanical creep and temperature excursions and the
effect on the SVT components (wirebonds, etc.). Research into this
subject will be conducted.
• The preparations for the upcoming review were discussed. The items
that will be presented on the SVT mechanical design need to be
determined soon. The specifications need to be well defined for this review.
• Anna showed her progress on the simulation of the FST. The simulation
of the copper assemblies was discussed. Anna figured out how to add the
geometry of the copper slot assembly into the simulation. Work is
continuing on the FST simulation.
• SVT silicon sensor Sources Sought Notice and the Statement of Work
(specifications) have been completed and sent to Mitch Laney for final
review and comments.
• The MSU MOU has been edited and returned to Latifa. The price of the
construction of the first modules by MSU is need next for the
sole-source module construction procurement.
• All of the parts of the resource loaded schedule need to be completed
and added to the master list before funds can be dispensed to any SVT
sub-system. It is therefore imperative to have the Mechanical Group,
MSU, & UNH complete their detailed section of this resource loaded
schedule.
