Hello Everybody,
With a target boiling study followed by a dead time scan, the SHMS
commissioning plan for 3 pass was completed around 5:00 AM last night.
After Eric Pooser restored the coincidence trigger we began production for
the CT experiment at 5:00 for the lowest Q^2 point which overlaps with the
6 GeV experiment. We collected about ~ 1.5 hrs worth of production data
before the beam was taken away due to a PSS fault which dropped the Hall to
restricted access. Taking advantage of this opportunistic access, Walter
and crew are stuffing some extra shielding material under the SHMS dipole
to plug some holes into the detector hut. Also, last night,
a current above the official operational restriction of 40 uA was put on
the 10 cm dummy for about 20 mins. In order to ensure that it was not
damaged, one point at 40 uA from the boiling study on Al dummy will be
repeated as soon as the Hall is buttoned of and beam is restored. After the
test of the dummy target the production will continue over the rest of the
week and over the weekend.

There will be a RC meeting at 1:30 PM today in the conference room on the
2nd floor of the counting house.
