[Hallc] [New Logentry] Hall C RC update: Tuesday, March 5, 2019

This morning, the J/Psi experiment is finishing up with beam stopping at about 9 am.  When beam goes off, several hours of RF recovery will begin.  In addition, the decision has been made to reduce the beam energy from 10.6 GeV to about 10.2 GeV.  This will hopefully result in improved reliability and higher up times.  Due to the energy change, beam is not expected in Hall C until Thursday afternoon.  Shift leaders are on Standby for Tuesday Swing, Wednesday Owl, Day, Swing, and Thursday Owl shifts.  The targets will remain cold, so target operators will be required for all shifts.  All shift workers should plan on reporting for Thursday Day shift.

Due to the elevated radiation levels in Hall C, the plan is to limit access to the hall to RadCon personnel only today.  Hopefully, radiation levels will be low enough tomorrow (Wednesday) to allow access to the hall without a HRAW (High Radiation Area Watch).  On Wednesday, there are several tasks to be addressed. When beam returns on Thursday, we will begin running the remainder of the CSV-SIDIS experiment.  We will discuss preparations for the CSV-SIDIS running at today's RC meeting at 4:30 pm in the Counting House. Remote connection information is below.
