[Hallc] SHMS NIM Paper - 1st Draft Request for Comments/Feedback

Hello everyone,

After a long time, the SHMS NIM paper is almost in a position to be 
submitted.

I have made various edits, added new plots and re-arranged some material 
based upon the version that was available a few years ago.

I have attached a pdf of the latest version of the paper. Please read 
through the draft and send any comments, feedback or corrections to 
myself or Mark Jones.

In the interest of finally getting the paper submitted, *please send 
your comments by EoD (Eastern) on the 1st of July 2024.* Note that some 
plots or sections need updating/adding and these are noted in blue text 
on the paper.

If you have access to the overleaf, please feel free to make changes to 
the document directly.
