We started to get some tune beam in the hall last night after 8pm. https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/3596581
It was intermittent until about 11pm when the accelerator had some problem with the 2L24 cavities going off. https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/3596640
The harp scans looked too wide. Beam in Hall C was plagued by BLM trips. There was no beam after 11pm due to various issues with the accelerator.
As of this morning, the goal is to get beam to Hall C. They are currently working to shrink the beam spot from what we received last night. Then they will send beam to the Hall again, harp scans, etc. After that point, we still have BPM and ion chamber calibrations before getting to the beam deflection test so it seems it could still be some time. There will be some attempt to establish how high of current they can send us before beginning the beam deflection test.
In the meantime, we are still running cosmics. As Simona and Howard emphasized, crews will turn off DC HV even when target is not in and there is tune beam in the hall with magnets off.
There will be no RC meeting this afternoon. As soon as we begin ion chamber calibrations, etc, I will send an updated timeline so that trigger and detector experts can make plans.
