Yesterday around 9 am we started the SHMS hodoscope paddle at the settings of 9.2 GeV momentum and 8 degrees angle. The SHMS went below 8 degrees and stopped at 7.98 degrees (clearly the shift crew wasn't paying attention to the rotation!) which hit the limit switch.

Around 10:45 am, we were down due to yet another accelerator magnet issue that has been ongoing for 24 hrs. Joe Beaufait and Steve Lassiter took an escorted access to reset the SHMS rotation limit switch and the spectrometer is parked at 7.99(5) degrees. We will restart the hodoscope paddle test to avoid any any angle difference in data. We haven't gotten too far in the study as the beam was taken away shortly after we started this study.

>From the 7:45/8 am meetings --> Beam is not expected to be restored to the halls today. Support personnel are working on the accelerator magnet issue but today will be like another maintenance day. I will update this entry as I know more.

When the beam is restored to the Hall C we will carry on the SHMS paddle study and then switch to the XEM2 production run plan.
