Yesterday we completed initial checkout of the HMS, finishing with taking some sieve data on the z=0 carbon target (see https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4181012 for some plots showing a full analysis of all the sieve runs).  During the sieve data, the NPS calorimeter was turned on while at larger angle (20 degrees).  This required the first execution of the NPS sweeper/corrector setup procedure, which went well.

We then moved on to setting up the trigger for coincidences between the NPS and HMS.  Initially, attempts were made at DVCS KinC_x50_2, and then at the 5 pass elastic setting.  There is some hint a coincidence peak was found at the elastic kinematics, but the sample in the analyzed data was low, so a full analysis was needed. On Owl shift, it was decided to transition to the high momentum HMS optics running and allow the analysis of the elastic data to complete, and the experts to get some rest.

A couple other issues came up and have been resolved since yesterday:
