RC Report - 02/21/2024
--------------------------------
Tuesday (02.20)
---------------------
=> MCC take OFF the beam 7am ~ midnight,
=> We took LED runs
=> TO Yaopeng noticed couple of alarms on target /hvL2_Fan_Freq_R/ , https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4254559, https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4254571, which was solved by oncall TO expertSilviu https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4254586
Works done in the Hall:
--------------------------------
1) Instrumentation Group => BPM IPM3H07A
2) Spectrometer support group => bayonet operations
3) Aaron => rebooted NPS mainframe
4) Jerry/Larry => SHMS Q1 magnet
5) Ellen => HMS Quadruple magnet
6) Dave G. +1 => Safety Walkthrough (SAF112)
7) Josh/Aaron => NPS temperature sensor issue. The channels has been recovered by using 3 extension cables (#3,8,9), https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4254570
Wednesday (02.21)
--------------------------
=> harps scan of 3H07A/3H07B with fast raster off, https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4254746 https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4254747. The numbers for 7B was 0.5481, and I asked MCC do do another one, https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4254804, https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4254803 , and the raster during the harp scan was OFF, https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4254751
=>Problem with the scalar/NPS current/NPS anode GUI https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4254818#comment-48603, so the Run Control GUI has been restarted ("killCoin" and "startCoin" to restart GUI) https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4254829
=>Issue with the SHMS GUI and TV, the angles are different, need to be fixed readout: https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4254775. Steve is working on that https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4254934
=> Escorted access to the hall. Techs trying to clean the wheels??
Plans for this week (Charles Hyde)
-----------------------------------------------
1) Around noon on Friday(02.23) we will move to a new Hall-C NPS setting with the NPS calorimeter at 7.4 deg (SHMS 23.7 deg).
2) We request the following tune procedure for the NPS Sweep magnet correctors:
2.1) The nominal expected corrector settings are Upstream=19Amp, Downstream=23Amp.
2.2) Starting with the correctors at (0,0), find the lowest corrector settings that allow acceptable beam transport to the dump with the Sweep Magnet at 468 Amp.
3) Find the maximal corrector currents (roughly within the range of the nominal settings) that allow acceptable beam transport to the dump with the Sweep Magnet at
468 Amp.
4) Depending upon the outcome, we will likely take a set of short runs on LH2 and/or LD2 to select which corrector setting minimizes background for our ~week-long
production run. https://hallcweb.jlab.org/wiki/index.php/Short_Term_Run-Plan
