The NPS experiment has been running like a supertanker on the open seas with clear sky above since we first got 40 uA CW at 10 am Saturday, with a 61% efficiency (ratio of ABU to total). The sources of downtime were the usual small problems, as well as planned configuration changes.
Today, Dave Gaskell is doing a moller polarimetry measurement. Tomorrow at 1:30 pm, Dave Mack will perform a BCM calibration. Note, the accelerator is currently limited to 35 uA, but there are some expert plans to adjust the optics to bring us back to 40 uA. The DAQ rates are nearly too high at 35 uA for the present kinematics, so we're happy with 35 uA at the moment. But it would be nice to have the headroom for future kinematics.
