Current Status

Smooth production running on LH2 at 55 uA. This is the first LH2 cycle at z = 0.5 e-pi- setting (SHMS_theta = 14.37 deg). Next, we will move to the first Dummy cycle.

Key Updates

Yesterday was very productive. We finished z = 0.5 e-pi- (SHMS_theta = 11.07 deg) setting data taking around 4:20 AM and then moved SHMS to 14.37 deg. The rotation was smooth, and we started production at z = 0.5 e-pi- (SHMS_theta = 14.37 deg) in less than 20 minutes.

Around 6:30 AM, the SHMS Q3 interlocked, causing about 3 hours of downtime. When multiple resets failed to clear the interlock, I informed Sam, the engineer on call. She attempted to clear it remotely without success. Following that, Sam, Heidi, and Eleen made an escorted access around 8:39 AM to power cycle the faulty flow controller, which resolved the issue. Many thanks to all of them. It is likely this issue could occur again unless appropriate shielding is installed to protect the related electronics—possibly a task for the upcoming maintenance day. 4439051

Peter, in discussion with Mark, updated the reference time cuts in the tcoin.param file at 3:41 PM yesterday. The first full replay affected by this change should be for run 24712. A preliminary look at the effect of this change suggests an increase in the number of good events. 4438603

This morning, around 12:15 AM, Peter updated the phodo_cut.param file with stricter time window cuts (affecting the full replay of run 24727 onwards). Then, around 10 AM, Mark noticed that Peter's cuts were too tight and adjusted them to be wider (affecting the full replay of run 24738 onwards). A preliminary look at the affect of Peter's narrow cut doesn't indicate noticeable affect on the normalized yield per run. 4438832 4439069
