Current Status

We are about to finish the final Dummy cycle at the z = 0.5 e–π⁻ (SHMS_θ = 14.37°) setting.

Next, we will move to the z = 0.5 e–π⁺ setting at the same SHMS angle. The current plan is to skip the nuclear targets at the π⁺ setting, proceed with positron data-taking (including Cu) and the H(e,e′p) scan, and then—if time remains before the pass change—return to the π⁺ setting for nuclear target data.

Key Updates

Since recovering from the SHMS Q3 interlock around 9:30 AM yesterday, operations in the hall have been stable. However, MCC encountered several issues that caused multiple downtimes.

There was another HMS magnet interlock incident around 2 PM yesterday due to a Hall B solenoid trip. This occurred during downtime, so no beam time was lost. 4439178

A CODA issue occurred this morning related to ROC1 and ROC5. The shift crew resolved it with a reboot under Hanjie’s guidance. 4439713

MCC has been notified of our decision to perform the pass change on Thursday. According to Jay, there will be a couple of hours of controlled access during the pass change. Please plan ahead and notify the RC if anyone would like to use this opportunity to do work in the hall.

During yesterday’s RC meeting, Jay mentioned a possible high-current test by sending beam to Hall C on Wednesday. If this happens, we should receive 55 μA and take production data. Since this plan was not mentioned in today’s PD meeting, it appears they have not finalized it yet. We should know more after tomorrow’s PD meeting.
