Unfortunately, we have not had any beam in the last 24 hours. Accelerator is fighting severe beam transport problems, the cause of which is not understood. Accelerator tech teams spent yesterday's day shift to address a number of hardware faults (ARC A box supply trip, Hall D dipole instability) that were all cleared fairly quickly. The main remaining issue at this time is severe beam halo in Hall B when delivering beam to Hall A. No such effect was seen when Hall A was at 3-pass. Brainstorming is underway among the Accelerator beam experts. There is no ETA for beam delivery at the moment, although tune beam may appear at any time, even in Hall C.

Shift crews in Hall C—and all the other halls—have been twiddling their thumbs in the last 24 hours patiently waiting for beam. We have been taking cosmics and keeping an eye on our systems, which look fine (except the HMS Q2, as discussed yesterday). I realize this is a frustrating situation.

Let's have a brief RC meeting at 2:30pm this afternoon to discuss plans for tomorrow. People are free to use the conference room on the second floor of the counting house, but don't make an extra trip to be there in person; meeting on Zoom only is fine.
