Sorry I couldn't be there - I had to deal with some unexpected car
problems this morning.

I am making some minor modifications to my setup - mainly to improve
throughput so that we can get the testing done asap. Within a few days, I
should be ready if any (unlikely right now) are ready before next week's
end. I understand from Tom Bailey's last phone call that Hamamatsu
expects to ship five arrays either by tomorrow (Friday) or early next
week. I expect that Fernando will be first to get any to "outfit" them
and make appropriate tests.

I plan on concentrating on basic optical tests of performance. I already
have a planned irradiation with RADCON's Cs-137 facility, but I expect to
do that after my return from the IEEE conference (last week of October).
If things go well, I plan a 1-2 day irradiation (for 1 to 2 krads total
dose) with a powered pair of SiPMs (one from each vendor). Their basic
characteristics (i.e., multi-pe spectra) will be monitored online before,
during, and after the irradiation.

My main concern is that, after the initial room temperature tests, we get
some of the devices outfitted for "cold operation" so that we can verify
the temperature-related issues.

All the best,

...............Carl
