Dear collaborators,

In preparation for completing the gluing of light guides onto all
modules, we have made an inventory of all the hardware and components
that are needed to complete the task. We have checked the count of LED
boards and strips that are needed. While going through this exercise we
realized that when we ordered the monitoring system, we ordered a total
of 390 strings and 3900 LED boards, sufficient for 48 modules and 6
spare strings and 60 spare LEDs. This does not cover the number required
for the 49th module. We should consider what we wish to do about
instrumenting the 49th module. Clearly it would be good to have a
working ectype.

The count was completed when there were 12 modules left to glue (the
number is now 10). This count includes the extra 49th module.

Strips:
Required ordered operational failed needed for 49 modules
       96 94 86 6 10(*)

(*) Athens has some spares to compensate for our losses.

LED boards
Required ordered operational failed needed for 49 modules
     960 940 877 56 27(*)

(*) Assume that the 56 failed boards can be repaired.

In summary, it appears that we will be able to instrument the 48 modules
assuming we can repair a few of the damaged LED boards. However, to
completely instrument the 49th module, we would have to obtain
additional boards.

We can discuss this at our next Bcal readout meeting.

Cheers, Elton.
