[Halld-controls] Need requirements for UPS power in Hall D

Hi,
In the next few weeks Giles will begin design of a UPS power
distribution system in the hall. The current plan is to run filtered
power (according to Fernando's requirements) from the big UPS in the
counting house down to a distribution center in the hall, then run
branch circuits where needed.
We believe this is more robust and cost effective compared to placing
small UPS's all over the place. The big UPS has plenty of capacity for
keeping computers and controls equipment running, is extremely reliable,
routine maintenance is regularly performed through a Facilities
contract, batteries are regularly checked and replaced, etc.
Tim asked me to collect our total power requirements and determine where
power is needed. Dave B and I have a good feeling for what's needed for
much of the control system, but not for many other systems. If you need
reliable UPS power for your system please send me your requirements in
the next week or two. If your power requirements are too large we'll
have to discuss options with our power engineers.
Note that once we run the big lines down from the UPS to the hall it is
unlikely we'll run more, so we need to get the power requirements
settled soon.
Thanks,

Sincerely,
Elliott
