If we take the data in the EPICS archiver for GlueX and scale the beam current to 5uA, then we get that the radiation dose rate near the electronic racks in the tagger hall will be about 10 rem/hour as detected by the gamma radiation probe (the neutron probe indicates a factor of 50x smaller dose rate). The gamma probe, I believe, is somewhere on the floor. Pavel’s simulation estimates from his preprint are 5-20 rem/hour for total rates, depending on the z-coordinate, for a similar radiator thickness. This means that 200 rem/hour is approximately 10 to 40 times more (depending what number we exactly compare to) than what we would get with 5uA beam and the nominal GlueX radiator without extra shielding.
I believe that we should aim to be below 20 rem/hour in the tagger hall with the CPS setup to be able to be consistent with what we argued in the proposal.

we find that the maximum "PROMPT DOSE EQUIVALENT" is ~200 rem/hr. This quantity includes biological effects.
