* Lehman Review review
+ Lab proposed re-baselining
o CD 4A milestone stays on Jan. '15
o CD 4B moved to Dec. '16
+ Halls:
o good progress, but cost and schedule cannot be met,
mainly due to superconducting magnets in B and C
o due to general cost trends, recommend an ETC, from bottom
to top
o we will have to retain documentation for changes
+ B & C generated magnet recommendations
+ not happy with costs management by Procurement
+ de-scoping of new solenoid:
o added 10 M$ to extend schedule
+ SVT project of Hall B praised for progress
* exterior doors to CEBAF Center to remain mainly closed to entrance
* promotions, Rolf has a condition: responsibilities must have
changed
Safety, Bert
* recent annoumcement about General Access Radiation Work Permit
pertains to the 2012 version
* training for the 2013 has not been issued yet, but will be soon
Installation, Tim
* solenoid review
+ need to finish paper work
+ going in right direction
+ OSP forthcoming
* solenoid systems
+ helium, nitrogen, and vacuum all lead checked
+ will start cooling Dec. 17
+ power supply turn on Fri., OSP in place
+ Jan. 9: review for powered operations
+ meeting was held today for planning for powered operations
* tagger
+ Bill Crahen visited manufacturere, accepted the magnet
+ worked as it should, holding off on delivery
+ tagger gantry still needs load testing.
+ vacuum chamber probably here in January
+ tagger hall ODH assessment complete (verbally)
o Hall will have to have monitoring done as well
* extra A/C in EEL 126: installation underway
FDC Construction, Lubomir
* techs are back!
* package 1: finished, subsystems installed, finishing wiring for hv,
ready to test, will move after shutdown
* package 2: last one to finish, working on cathodes, all wire frames
ready, all materials in hand, done by January
* package 3: tested in EEL 126, moved to Bluecrab before
Thanksgiving, connected to nitrogen to test, small leak found,
over-pressured by mistake, pressure 350 Pa on input to dewar
* package 4: finished before Thanksgiving, Vlad tested, found broken
field wire, not clear how that happened, one week after closing it,
prbably a kink waiting to go, replaced last week
Calorimetry, Elton
* planning for shipping FCAL frame
+ will be ready in a week
+ John Frye will come here when time to align shims for blocks
* BCAL
+ parts are all on order, read-out boards have been shipped,
hoping to have 1st article soon, then all boards in Jan.
+ jumper maps ready this month to be ready for installation
o will take a couple of months
+ waiting on light guides, 800 last week, almost a 1/3 on site
now, another shipment today or tomorrow
+ glueing manpower need to be coordinated
o Tina and Mike will work on it
+ have 400 LEDs on hand, rest shipped this month
* attending GSI collaboration meeting next week
+ discussions for collaboration with GSI/PANDA
+ discussion of virtual institute
o everyone is interested but change of management structure
at GSI right now
o delay in signing agreement
Tagger, Sascha
* microscope contract
+ dispute resolution discussion on-going
* fixed array
+ Dan Sober close to finalizing size of counters
+ will need to regenerate field map, but current map good enough
for design
+ PMTs: Franz Klein received two tubes
o he will be here for two days, prepare a set-up for
testing
+ Vladimir Popov, of Radcon, will design amps for the PMTs
o he did similar amplifiers for Hall C
o amplifiers needed to reduce charge on anode
o schedule tight, 4-5 months lead time for tubes
Pair Spectrometer, Ivan
* working on gluing jig with Anatoly Sitnikov, hope to order fixture
soon
CDC Construction, Beni
* Lubmori and Beni decided on gas system:
+ FDC can handle 40-60 to 90-10 mixture with 1.5 overhead for
maximum flow
+ for CDC have factor of two
* want to measure continuity at CMU before closing plenum, now that
boards are installed
* issue with sealing neoprene between endplate and Swiss cheese
plate: cracked, causing leak
* Tim on gas system: Narciso Gomez spec'ing out components, has a
spec that Tim will review, will make a gas panel, he is also
designing an alcohol bubbler, both in one fridge
* Lubomir tired one oil bubler design, but not with low pressure in
chamber, can add volume in front of bubbler
Time-of-Flight, Start Counter, Mark
* No TOF meeting in some time
* Chuck Hutton is waiting for feedback on the support structure from
the mini-TOF construction effort
* Start Counter has issues with crazing from manufacturer McNeal
+ happens several weeks after counters are received
+ will make an effort to improve handling procedures
+ will research possible role of heating and bending
* SiPMs for more boards have arrived at JLab
Around the Room
David
* working on data acquisition event source
+ have a version with EVIO low-level objects
+ Dave Abbott made the libraries, changes needed to make it able
to read multi-event blocks with no dis-entangling, allow
accepting event from ET or file
* implemented MD5 check sums to fingerprint geometry
* wrote new tool to use command line to see where you are in geometry
Beni
* learning CSS for FDC and CDC HV and LV applications
* working on making material in front of TOF more realistic, add
structures involved in holding system together
Sascha
* Vardan working with him on template funcions for board
initialization
* have a process running that talks to run control
* uses config files with parameters: write them, check with read
* Vardan working on interface for trigger control, pre-scale factors
* with Dmitry: write these parameters to db
Ivan
* AC for EEL 126 looks good, no water drops on gluing system
* when that is done will test cross talk and after-pulsing
Dmitry
* continuing with trigger, adding gui
* group decision to switch to CCDB on Jan. 1
* tried to load geometry to EVE, geometry browser, worked well
+ projections next
+ also need to incorportate into JANA
Elliott
* protoype monitoring farm work
+ one node working, other three done today
+ preliminary tests, injected events into ET system at 500 kHz
* getting elog installation a week from today
* EVIO improvements coming in
* re-ordering events will not be done
* controls for solenoid under control
* counting house furniture being planned
Hovanes
* finished adding command line options for scripts for PLC interface
to EPICS
* working on EPICS support for FADC modules, to be able to read
parameters of FADC-250 and read scalers
* counting house: starting to procure equipment, will need everything
finished by Jan. for racks to be complete, then computers and file
servers can be installed
Simon
* working on geometry in simulation
+ changes to CDC geometry
+ BCAL issues as well
* working on tools for vertexing for use by Paul
Mark
* working on data challenge
Yi
* working on PLC and PXI interface system for solenoid
+ for data analysis will have root based tools
+ turn-to-turn short patterns are visible by eye now
o working on automating recognition
John
* working on proceedings for recent conferences
* NIM paper on FCAL beam tests in progress
